Dynamic Listings Order Sort

Dynamic Listings Order Sort (lite) |
|
New Version! Uses the module system built within phpMyDirectory! Once the number of listings for a category stretches beyond one or two pages, it becomes essential that your site visitors can access the listings in the quickest, easiest and most user friendly way possible.
This is also an area where the needs of your highest paying customers conflict somewhat with the needs of the end user. Both are equally important to your site's success and so consideration must be given to finding a way of placing your main income producers high in the results, and to allow visitors to find the listings they are looking for, whether paid or free.
This modification to index.php and search-all.php (browse/search results) adds toggle links above the listings, allowing the user to choose whether to display the list by:
* Membership (default) * Alphabetically * Recently Added * Rating (if ratings are enabled) - highest rated first * Visits / Hits * Random
By using the standard phpMyDirectory method of descending membership levels as the default page view, your paying members get maximum exposure, but the end user can now choose the order by a method that is important to them.
This mod also helps solve the problem of how to order the listings so that those listings further down the alphabet get shown.
